this is the second thread on the topic since the first one was derailed
I've been talking a lot to people about this, it seems that OSCP is the way to go.
However, someone else here mentioned Pentest+ as it just got DoD approved
Tbh I prefer the opinion of CEF over any of the nerds at Silicon Valley shooting for high paying jobs... because I wanna make sure I'm studying to become a competent security analyst, not to simply become a good exam taker (OSCP is easily piratable btw, PM me to find out how. Their policy is to fail and rescind certs from anybody who pirates the pdf which is bs. "someone" took a look at their syllabus and the info on it is easily available online. Yet they wanna charge 1k+ for it)
i got some news for you if your best employment opportunities are random spam
why didn't you post this in general discussion
I think the owner/admin of the discord banned you for legal reason, you're flooding about islam every fucking where, get over this shit.
no body cares about your religion, we're in the modern world people have moved on but you're still stuck in history.
edit: i'm still waiting for your response to my comment in the other thread.
i think you are talking out of ignorance and prejudice, as i did no such thing to that discord. produce your proof.
Islam is a religion for all peoples until the end of time -- civilisation today benefits greatly from it, and there are more muslims today than there ever were.
can you even begin to tell me what you say is 'stuck'?
no, thought so.
and, FLOODING? -- which topic were you talking about? LOL
They're IT certs not CS certs. CS is more programming related, if youre trying to get a job in CS work on a github
Just like I told you in the original thread it all start with help desk. If you dont have any degree/certs/experience as it is start with the A+ then go either network+ or CCNA. Getting a help desk job at a small-medium sized MSP will give you hands on experience with all sorts of technogies. Why small-mid sized you ask? No red tape in those environments its usually all hands on deck for all sorts of issues that come in through phone calls and tickets.
Fyi: When you pay for certificated courses, you are not paying for a diploma or for the pdf. You are paying for the certifying company to vouch for your knowledge. So that if another company calls them and asks for you, they can vouch for you.
That is why they also instruct you and evaluate you, so that they can vouch for your knowledge with confidence.
As for becoming a security specialized operative, it is very hard to start that specialized. I have seen transition from Devops to networking to overal security / ethical hacking.
Certificates are a nice touch for this jobs, but experience weights the most. And take into consideration that it is way less romantic than what people sell you. Most of your work hours will not be finding out the exploits/vulnerabilities, most of the work will be filling reports and working on risk analisys (How much money is at risk and how much money would it cost to fix it).

yuck! Thanks for letting me know
Yeah, the closest fits I see of knowledge that transfers from CE related stuff to the workplace seem to all be post grad/Sr level positions on malware analysis (they do list knowledge of debugging tools as a req)
also I'd think job roles differ based on where you work at. Some firms do require active research into the latest vulnerabilities
