Hi everyone. I started learning Game Engine about two weeks ago to swap some models and moves in PS2 games using PCSX2 emulator. I've been trying so hard to understand some basic to advanced instructions for that matter and I almost made it but it seems like some moves have some weird merging issues in Urban Reign that I can't figure out what the problem is. now I'm totally stuck and have no idea what else to try !
And the weird thing is, I have no problem performing those moves on the same character that I swapped the move with !! I had the exact same issue when I swapped models and their entire moveset with each other directly on the fight scene (actually model swap only works on the main game but on the practice mode, it only changes the profile picture) and to fix them, all I did was quit to the character select menu and when I came back once again everything would work. I thought it might have something to do with cache or something. so I tried the same thing on the individual moves with issues but I failed.
On the other side, I realized that if I swap my character model with the one that I exchanged the move with, then I can easily perform that move on all characters with no single issue at all !!
what's happening here ? is there something in the characters model that kind of affect the moves ? if it's so then how come that I can perform some other moves from other characters without any problem ?
Every time I perform the moves with issues, some addresses display the value 40784 (80 byte) which means no animation. I went through an extensive trial and error with my limited knowledge to find the right addresses related to them so that I could replace them with the correct ones but I failed. and since these two addresses are volatile, changing any values through "disassemble this memory" or "what writes to/accesses this address" is useless. not to mention that I couldn't really find any useful information through the memory view other than some EAX and ECX stuffs that refer to the same address and same value (in hex) :

CONCLUSION

I completely ran out of options to try other stuffs because I don't really know the source of problem:
1. is it the character model ? should I have some features from their model in order to perform their moves ?
2. is it some sort of a cache issue ?
3. is it those addresses with 40784 values ? should I find the right address for them ?
I've been working on this for about two weeks non-stop and like I said I'm totally stuck. it would be great if someone could help me what else to try.
Edit: I had to summarize it since I wasn't allowed to have image links between paragraphs.
