I'm trying to find a way of having XP multiplier on Dragon Quest 8 PAL for PS2.
There are Pnach codes already available for this however, nothing that works for XP multiplier.
These codes were converted from US version to PAL version, but do not work for me, however other converted codes do work (Money and Haelth)
//Experience Multiplier Codes. It even displays the exact Exp you gain after battle.
//x2
//patch=1,EE,20360CD4,extended,8FA2319C
//patch=1,EE,20360CD8,extended,00021040
//patch=1,EE,20360CDC,extended,AFA2319C
These work for PAL version of the game
//2500 EXP per battle
//patch=1,EE,20369170,extended,240109C4
//patch=1,EE,20369174,extended,AC410000
//patch=1,EE,20369178,extended,AFA100D0
Is there anyway of using cheat engine to find the correct address for XP multiplier? Or anyway of using existing information for Cheat Engine to create XP multiplier?
I've used cheat engine to freeze health so at least I know that works.
Any help or reference into what exactly I need to look into, which tutorial is most relevant here or guides I should be looking for?
This is what I have tried so far
Beat enemies
recorded XP gained in reward screen and repeated to find address.
There are 6 addresses that relate to this value
So really not sure on next step.
Right click "Find out what writes to this address" on one of these and fight beat another fight
I see 4 entries
30B263E0 - 89 11 - mov [ecx],edx
30D23BF0 - 89 11 - mov [ecx],edx
30D24207 - 89 11 - mov [ecx],edx
30D25DB0 - 89 11 - mov [ecx],edx
Not sure what I'm looking for here
Or should I bee looking at my total XP and identify what effects that?
30D2F822 - 89 11 - mov [ecx],edx
I've attached memory viewer, just no idea what direction I should be heading in or what I need to look for?
BTW Why can't I search the forum? Clicking on "search" is just a google search
