Games are 99.9% non-self-modifying so the risk of breaking the actual game binaries is pretty much 0. However, editing memory values and functions can lead to breaking game data such as game saves or other cached/temp data (shaders, textures, etc.).
It is always ideal to at least backup your saves before altering the game any. _________________
