I was watching a YouTube guide on how to make pointer values or whatever, and this guy recommended leaving the number of threads alone, changing the maximum offset value to 5k, and setting the max level to 8.
The video guide said it might take 1 to 20 minutes, but mine has taken upwards of 50 minutes and is still scanning as I write this.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire E15 with Intel Core i5 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU, running Windows 10 Home 64 bit on version 1903.
If my laptop is too underpowered to run pointer scans, I'd appreciate a swift response so I can stop the scan and prevent potential damage to the hardware.

Using pointer scanner on some games is useless. Is it "Unity Engine" game?
First, when you are learning, I would recommend doing pointerscan on games which already have CheatTables here or at fearlessrevolution.com with pointers.
Second, I don't know which vid tut you watched. Did youtuber use pointermaps? If not, you can say that this guide is "not using CE potential in 100%".
