I'm running into a small issue trying to do the fourth tutorial of Cheat Engine when it asks me to click "Find out what writes to this address" and Cheat Engine asks to attach a debugger to the process, I click yes and my pc blue screens and says it needs to restart, which is fine, but it happens every time I try to attach the debugger.

Now, the things I have tried: Enabling kernel debugger, using VEH debugger instead, making sure Read/Write Process Memory is disabled, using "Find out what accesses this address" and the same problem still occurs.

I don't have any other processes open, nor is my PC overclocked.

I am running Cheat Engine 7.0 on a Windows 10 pc and for normal scans Cheat Engine works fine, I've had no trouble using cheat tables either, so I was just wondering if anyone might know the problem or a potential solution.

I would highly appreciate any help whatsoever.

is there any information in the blue screen?

can you find the crash dump files and upload them domewhere? usually c:\windows\memory.dmp but can also be a dufferent file. After boot windows usually tells you it has crashed and a list of files

What happens to your system when you press the printscreen button?

Can you run the reset settings program that comes with CE?

Thank you very much, it works! The error was SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION and it said that dbk64.sys failed and found another post you had replied to as well! I ran the cheat engine settings reset and everything is working fine now and I think I know what the cause of the error, because I had stupidly enabled the scan settings to MEM_MAPPED to allow it to find values on an emulator and promptly forgotten about it.
