i use incense, have like 15 different types and they're super stronk. i can even put them in my laundry to scent my clothes

you can also use essential oils. like wild orange or lavender or mint or all sorts. attar or any type of fragrance/perfume is promoted highly in islam. but just for general use, not ceremonial like hinduism. maybe you can find something volatile to use like lavender instead of sprays. maybe even make your own

they incense their clothing in the past in japan. sounded like a good idea to me.

He meant the stuff they burn at rituals, not attar or perfume, it's these sticks they light up and maintain the smell.

Also, Muslims in Pakistan use it as well because of their close association with Hindu Indians (even though they hate it when you bring this up)

attar can be burned as well, see attached.

attar use, incense burning, etc., has existed among muslims long before pakistan existed.
it doesn't really have much association with hindus -- rather it is the sunnah of Muhammad, peace be upon him, to burn incense and apply fragrances. it has been maintained as a large part of muslim culture and tradition

A lot of people use air freshener to mask the smell of weed, college dorm roommates often do this. Idk why though. The air freshener smell is way more damaging to your health than the weed smell, which isn't carcinogenic.

i might not notice a cannabis smell and they fade pretty quickly. but i usually associate air freshener sprays with 1) bathrooms 2) concealing drug smells, and if i am not seeing it used in a bathroom then i'm guessing it was for 2)

visited with family over the long weekend instead. mom made me some homemade chicken tikka masala with roti, koshimbir (salad), papadum and a yellow(tumeric) rice dish with eggplant, carrot, and some other vegetables that idk the name of.

was invited to uncles house but i dont drive or live with my parents and so too much driving for them when they have work on tuesday.

its mainly something i grew up with more than being an active follower of the religion. i mainly enjoyed celebrating the holidays in the past because it meant spending time with family.

i just made biryani for the first time this last week and realised i have no idea how spices work. hopefully you can visit your uncle some other time soon! haven't seen mine in ages
