Hello, so I was using the speed hack on a game called Geometry Dash to get through levels quicker, everything was fine. That was until at one point I opened Cheat Engine, configured it and the moment I turned on Speed Hack my whole computer froze, went blank, and then showed the Blue screen of death with the error "CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION". I'm not sure if I forgotten to set the program to the game, but I'm not using the engine until this problem is sorted out. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong?

I am using Windows 10 64 bit.

Cheers!

where any of the options in settings-extra enabled? if so, turn them off
if not, try updating your drivers and see if that helps

it could also be an hardware issue. e. g overclocked cpu with too low voltage, not enough airflow, etc...

But Cheat Engine is not directly to blame for that issue, because if you i.e. forgot to open a process, it'll just show an error message saying something like "failed to allocate memory" ...

Similarly, I get the "CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION" error when using Ultimap (seems to be pretty consistent if I leave it running for too long). I am also on Windows 10 64 bit with no options in the "Extra" settings section checked. I assumed this was a common thing as Ultimap has always been a bit finiky, but maybe it is something else.

From my point of view, I think it's windows 10 itself, I got so much bugs when I upgraded to 10, even today I'm facing many os issues. I think if you have a powerful computer, you should dual boot by installing a temporally OS, such as windows 7/8/8.1 and see if the problem persist. I know, it's a pain in the ass, but this will give you a clue if it's the OS, or C.E...

Yeah it could be the OS itself. Everything else is alright, like no extra settings, up to date drivers etc.

speedhack doesn't touch any system critical regions. Just some basic things specific to the process itself.

windows 10 checks more locations for corruption. So if your hardware has issues and flips a bit now and then (e. g under stress) then windows 10 is more likely to bsod fhan wi 7

(ultimap is unrelated as that actually makes an edit at a spot win7 doesn't check but win10 does)

The causes for the Critical_Structure_Corruption blue screen error usually are a) corrupted hardware, such as faulty memory card, and b) a driver that purposely or accidentally changed critical kernel code or data.

You need a specific identity what causes your BSOD by note received hexadecimal error codes, such as 0x0000000A, 0x0000003B, 0x000000EF, 0x00000133, 0x000000D1, 0x1000007E, 0xC000021A, 0x0000007B, 0xC000000F, and more, then googling for what explaination for the hexadecimal error code.

Also, you need to analyze BSOD report which generated by Windows itself store in a file called minidump.

One small tool to help you to analyze this BSOD minidump is BlueScreenView by NirSoft. It's free. This tool able to identify which driver causes BSOD and give you memory page info + error code.

With this info, then more easy to help you identify BSOD problem and fix it.
