How do I cheat?

Hi,
I am trying to use cheat engine 6.8.3 on a FiveM server. What I'm exactly doing is basically searching for a string, and then changing the value. Every time I scan for the text, I get an error "scan error:thread 10:access violation (102)". Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I have no anti virus installed on my computer, I only have my firewall enabled. Could someone please help me out. Thanks

Do you use kernelmode read process memory? If not try using that (in case it has a hook on the readprocessmemory api and doesn't properly handle it)

After doing your suggestion, I am getting more errors like scan error:thread 10:access violation (102), scan error:thread 3:access violation (102), and scan error:thread 6:access violation (102). What I'm exactly doing is searching for a string, and I would say 30%-60% of loading the scan, I would get one of those errors. I'm also running Cheat Engine in admin mode btw.
