Pretty much a nooby at using cheat engine. I tried the freeze method and everytime I change a certain value the browser shuts down. How to I get it so that I can change the gold amount permanently without having the browser quite on me?

let the server freeze your value.

Stuff like currency is almost always saved server-side in multiplayer games, this means that you can't alter the value.

Cheat engine can only change the values on your client, aka your computer. So to be able to change the amount of currency you have in a multiplayer game you essentially have to hack their entire server (not viable/possible).
