I'm hoping this is an easy one for you CE veterans!
I have a game EXE file that was made with .NET, and when I have CE do an "Enumerate DLL's and Symbols", the EXE entry does not have an arrow to be expanded. Is this an indicator that the EXE is obfuscated?
I guessed it was, so loaded up the same EXE in dotPeek, which produced an Assembly list that looked like it preserved source names. Classes that used in-game labels, like "RaiseArmyStatus", "CalcRiverHexes", stuff like that was in the list. Eureka, right? But how can I do anything with this?
My questions:
1. Does the fact that dotPeek could get Assembly List mean that the EXE was not actually obfuscated? Perhaps a setting in CE would allow me access to the Assemblies?
2. For example, in this EXE I can search for a value and isolate it to a memory address. How can I trace this back to a specific structure if the structure data is not in CE, but in dotPeek?
Thanks for any help. I'm very new at this!
