Before I disclose my issue I just wanted to mention I just made my account today but I've been a cheat engine user for many years and have had no problem until now.

Anyways I've tried this with more than one game but whenever I scan a game for its unknown initial values and then scan all values it will get all those values, but my very next scan always results into a 0, no matter which option I choose. The game is selected and after I I do my first scan of unknown initial value and all values I would next scan increased value which always comes to 0, which seems impossible. I thought maybe it was because of the game I was playing but then I tested in another game and it was happening in there too. If I scan for anything specific that will still work fortunately.

and unfortunately for me I cant redownload 6.8 since the download links have been removed. Never encountered this problem with Cheat Engine ever.

go to settings and try setting a custom scan folder

or reboot your computer (not shutdown and back on) and reinstall ce

and try the tutorial to rule out that the problem is the game you're targeting

Are you saying I have to complete the tutorial in order for it to be enabled? I never had to do this before. I uninstalled the application and did another installation and restarted my PC but its still now allowing me to find any values after the first scan of Unknown initial value and all. I feel like theres something really obvious I'm missing here but I'm using this application as I have been for a long time.

If no one is unable to determine the issue I'm seeing here then where can I get a download for 6.8? I didnt have any issues at all with that and I'm having regrets updating at all.

Well I redownloaded and installed 6.8 and guess what. It now works.

You guys are more than welcome to add me over discord or Teamviewer (I'd send pictures but I cant imagine how that would prove anything) if you want to see for yourselves the issue that's going on here. I want to make sure this gets noticed in case its affecting more users out there.

im interested to see whats going on, maybe scan settings do effect.

I am on Windows 10 64 bit.

Is there a 64bit version of the application? I looked inside the installation folder and I only saw 2 options for the launcher (cheatengine-i386) and (cheatengine-x86_64). Both of which do not work properly.

I'm not sure what we can do further here to troubleshoot the problem, I hope I gave as much information as possible so the right people can determine what needs to be fixed.

(cheatengine-i386) and (cheatengine-x86_64).

both runs on 64bit operating system, cheatengine.exe (the launcher) will launch the right executable for you. (depending on your OS 32 or 64)

try installing 6.8.1 to the same folder as 6.8

and it's also possible it's yoir av that is blocking it.

and have you tried the scanfolder thing ? (some av's block access to the windows temp folder)

though there is no mentioning at all that you change the variable type to all, i'll just assume you did
lf that's the case then go to settings-scan settings, and check 4 byte, float and double for the all type. (on a new setup it tends to be set to unchecked)

if i remember,he did fresh install of both 6.8 and 6.8.1 with "reset ce settings" checked.
