So I had a pointer list that ended in 3FC
the game updated and naturally my pointers no longer worked. I found my value, checked what wrote to it and it was still 3FC. The pointer list had 3 offsets. So I scanned for pointers 3 offsets has to end with 3FC

no results

I set the offset threshold to 4 end with 3FC

800,000,000 hits

I whittle it down and there are several with 4 offsets that work, but also several with just 3 offsets that also work, all with 3FC at the end.

How come my 3 offset scan didn't pick up the pointers with 3 offsets, but the 4 offset scan did?
