This bug is not happening just once it happens very often.
This bug was happening in previous versions too. Now I made a scan for array of bytes which I rarely use and I got almost 95 percent ready when the stupid thing became unresponsive and had to shut it down ....
This must be fixed. Its a random bug but it usually happens after a previous scan.

More information would be helpful.

What game are you targeting, what AoB are you scanning for, what scan settings are you using (start/stop regions, protections, fast scan), how much memory is the game using, which OS and version are you using, and what are your system specs?

are you targeting the [physical memory] process

if so, never open the settings window after selecting a process
if not, check that your system is not overclocked

Well system is not overclocked .
I am scanning on Dark Souls to reply to Parkout.
The bug happens random but is annoying and does not happen only ONCE and on a single game. It has happened on other processess too.
I will report how I get it if IT HAPPENS again.. damm I forgot to check the thread when my memory was still fresh. Too much scripting duh.

Until then this IS not Solved so if it Happens I will report immediately.

BTW the type of AOB - for two FLOAT values. But in other games it is just AOB and nothing so special. This shall not causes cheat engine to stop responding and NEVER recover however.

when it happens next time:
did you use multiple scan tabs ?
is MEM_MAPPED memory checked in the memory regions CE scans ?

Do you have any secondary lua scripts in autorun that make use of the main memscan object ( getCurrentMemscan() ) because that could conflict

Was there enough diskspace left on the disk where CE's tempfolder is ?

Yes I have GBs of free space.
OK MEM_MAPPED was not checked. Should it be?
and no I have no autorun script assigned yet.

no, mem_mapped is recommended to be off, as it can be really slow and could trigger hardware events

no idea, I havn't seen this happen from just scanning. (Assuming there's no API hook inside your system that is not threadsafe like EAC)

and you did not minimize any windows during the scan ?

Well for the Dark Souls I use borderless gaming tool which makes any game/program borderless.
However for emulators I don't touch this and they are all fullscreen or WINDOWED mode. Still sometimes AOB Scan or script that uses AOB scan causes CE to become unresponsive. This usually happens when I made 1 scan or second. Then I have to close/ open CE in order to avoid this error.

If I get the bug again I will come here to report and how I exactly got it , what I scan for etc.

I am sure something makes this happen.
