Hi,

I'm want to use the ultimap feature but can't get DBVM running. I'm using CE 6.6 on Win 10 pro. The "about" dialogue says my system supports DBVM, I also checked using the SecurAble tool.

Virtualization is "on" in the bios.
No Hyper-V
Tried to limit procs to 2

But I keep getting:
"The driver couldn't be opened! It's not loaded or not responding. I recommend to reboot your system and try again (If you're on a 64-bit windows, you might want to use dvbm)

What did I forgot?

uninstall ce, reboot, reinstall ce to c:\cheatengine and try again

if that also fails, then install windows 7 (and then upgrade to windows 10 though not recommended), or disable secure boot in the bios

and turn on kernelmode openprocess in settings to be sure the driver is loaded.

if you edited the ce exe utable you will have to compile the driver yourself, as well as sign it

Reinstalling into c:\cheatengine did solve the problem, thanks!

Actually, the installation folder wasn't the culprit here. I forgot I also unsigned (using FileUnsigner.exe) these 3 .exe:

Cheat Engine.exe
cheatengine-i386.exe
cheatengine-x86_64.exe

I just did it again and now back to the initial problem. I'm using the unsigning thing to bypass Resident Evil 7 "protection", maybe there's a better way?

the driver refuses to talk to modified versions of cheat engine (it's to prevent malware from using my driver which has my code signing signature)

to get it to work you need to compile the driver yourself (or find an unsigned driver somewhere) and then sign it yourself by buying a $200 code signing certificate, or boot windows in unsigned driver mode

RE7 has no protection, just unsign ce and use vehdebug. I don't know why you'd use kernel debug.

Someone told me ce detection comes standard with denuvo now so its probably just denuvo, game itself is piss easy to cheat.

I don't need kernel debug for RE7. I unsigned CE for RE7 in the past, and now I want to use DBVM for another task and noticed it won't work with an unsigned version of CE, that's all.

Booting windows in unsigned mode isn't enough, the driver still won't load

I tried so many things then i go on propoties run in compability mode - > win 7 AND WORKED my pc didnt crash ( win 10 last possible update)
