Firstly, why does the driver trigger a Trojan alert? I know it uses techniques that trojans use to write memory and acsses deeper processes, but if there's no outbound connection why would it trigger it?

Finally, is the source code on GitHub up to date? I would like to check through the source code and build from there because I know that some of the earlier versions did have Trojans in them.

av's don't check if it makes an outbound connection, they just see it as suspicious and then make you aware of it (by disrupting your system and blocking things you wish to use)

Unless my copy of the code was hacked in some way, it had a virus, I saw the code and removed it from my copy. This was nearly 5 years ago, when speed hack was still broken.

Are you sure GitHub is up to date? It says last update over a year ago.

Just out of curiosity why does ce now use an installer rather then just the exe and dlls? Installers for cheat tools are always suspicious to avs and most of the internet.

makes it easier for people who just want to run tables.
and
it registers the .cetrainer and .ct file extensions so they get opened by ce.
it safely unloads the driver if it was running, or tells you to reboot in case it can't
it sets up the security rights in the target folder, so dll injection in processes with a low integrity level will work. (else they'd get an access denied when calling loadlibrary in a ce folder with normal integrity level)

in short, it saves me time explaining people how to setup security rights and dealing with driver version conflicts

but you can still find a version without installer in the downloads section

Everything is suspicious to AVs.

Don't be a stupid and believe what a program tells you, look for yoursel. I mean CE is open source, you don't even need debugging knowledge..just...you know...look in the source.

As for the installer, Dark byte's gotta eat, no (besides that^)? Use your brain. Why does chrome/every other application uses an installer? It loses its power if you don't use it like a muscle...i guess
