In Cheat Engine how do you break a thread?!

In the debug options it says break and lists which thread you'll like to break on. In Dishonored 2 I saw a thread on this forum that said, "When using power - just break go down..." Well, I'm curious how I would just break at that thread since the game tends to pause when window is unfocused. At times I did and I got to the window creation part but not at the rendering part.

I was just curious if you just switch over and break a thread. I understand one thread is doing other things than just rendering. I'll also ask the Dishonored (11-11-2016) thread as well just in case. Thanks if you can help!

just break the thread. as soon as the thread wakes up it'll break. (so switch to the game)

tip: run in windowed mode

Yes dishonored 2 is running in window mode when I alt tab the game goes into pause menu. Wait, do you mean that pause game go to cheat engine memory viewer - debug options -> Break -> Select thread. Memory viewer goes normally to what seems like the function calls of the 3D rendering part which is in a dll then I step forward until I've reached Dishonored2.exe. Once I get there or maybe I don't need to - just resume game and cheat engine will break automatically when it resumes at the frame I want to debug?!

When someone says, "Just break" it really just gets me confused - I've done that just had to step through a lot of unnecessary code to get to Dishonored2.exe - that's all.
