So I found a pointer change to a game parameter I want. The issue is that it's always changing so if my program were to read the chain at the wrong moment I could get a weird result. Is this normal? Is there a better chain to be found? Any guidance would be appreciated. Here are pictures to add clarity.

it's likely there is a better pointerpath to be found.
Perhaps more than 5 levels, or even bigger structsize

But sometimes a semi working pointer is good enough. The level depth is high enough so the chance of it pointing to a complete wrong address is quite small, so not much of a chance for memory corruption

Thanks Dark Byte!

I managed to find a more stable pointer path using 7 levels. However, all the apparent valid pointer paths start at the dreaded THREADSTACK0. Is it likely that I'll find a valid pointer path that begins at "MyApplication.exe" if I continue to increase the max level and/or offset? Or do I have to learn how to use threadstack0, seems to be a pain from what I've read on other threads.

perhaps there is a static base, but it's not guaranteed
e.g. this code
Code:

int main(char *argv, int argc)
{
CMyGame game=new CMyGame();
game->startgame()
}

will never create 'game' in a static address. but you can be quite sure it will be at the same (relative) spot in the stack each time

as long as the threadstack offset is small it's pretty safe to use

You can try this
Add the pointer to the address list
Select it and press f5 to find out what access this address
Then click find out what access this pointer

It can give an idea which of the pointers are much stable when you
check the assembly code.

When there are no result then it's not a good pointer.
When there are results check other pointers (do the same thing) if they are within those codes then it might be a good candidate for a static pointer.
