I searched CE forums for a while, and found an old topic about it

viewtopic.php?p=5605260&sid=37ea792efc30fb256834f00cee792bf5 <- found here, can't post URLs yet haha.

I've set my CE to mimic the options (except memory range) and attach to vmware-vmx.exe

On the first instance of the emulator, and cheat engine, i can find the values.

But if i somehow lock it, an address' value becomes ??? and i'll never find those values again unless i do a Physical Memory Scan.

I've been doing physical scans for a long while, but its really unstable as it usually restarts the emulator if the scan takes too long. And have to search again.

Is there anyway to find the values by just attaching to vmware-vmx.exe ?

-edit-

i tried attaching Cheat Engine again to Vmware-vmx.exe, and somehow it can find the addresses when its not past a certain address? Otherwise i do a full memory scan and find the addreses.

I still can't lock values on the Cheat Engine that's attached to vmware-vmx.exe, but i can lock it on the cheat engine that's attached to Physical Memory.

What the heck's going on? o_o is this emulator trolling?

Bumping thread. if its not against the rules.

Still cannot find values if CE is attached to the VMWare-vmx.exe

Only Physical Memory Scans, and its kinda itchy to use everytime the game goes into battle.

I would use Game Guardian, but this game is like "NO ROOT! FUCK YOU!"

Are you on windows 10? Because this seems quite common on windows 10 when the paging protection of a napped region is changed.

Try editing the value using memoryview only

my desktop OS is Windows 7.

The target virtual machine's os is Android.

What do i search on Memory view? (More like, this window is very foreign for me, except the lower bottom one)

I usually search with Group function on CE for the values i want to edit.

example would be

4p:7430 4:* 4:* 4p:9166 4:* 4:* 4:* 4:* 4p:0 4:* 4:10000

Find the address you wish to change in memview (just press ctrl+b on the address in the addresslist)
Rightclick the bottom view, and choose display type->4 byte decimal
Now edit the value there

if it doesn't work, make sure kernelmode write process memory is enabled

and if that also doesn't work, then in the memory view window press ctrl+l, and type dbk_writesIgnoreWriteProtection(true)

Thing is, the addresses i wish to edit are placed randomly on wherever.

Anytime i start a battle in this game, the addresses are always at a new spot, hence the group search.

The values searched using the group search which enables me to find the addresses that is for editing (HP, Attack and Skill Charge) and the values are constant (as long as i know the values prehand since the game displays them)

also cool you can display-type->4 byte decimal, that's nifty, but that's also like, browsing through a chunk of code.

The VM is at 3GBs of ram after all.

currently i'm just scrolling down the memory region where it'd be at... its a long list.

then first do the groupscan, find the current address, press ctrl+b on it, and edit it in memoryview

Did i also mention that, the addresses can only be found when doing a physical memory scan? XD (Sometimes they can be found in vmware-vmx.exe but it gets ported to another memory region if i lock it)

Doing any groupscan on vmware-vmx.exe just gives me nothing. zilch. blank results.

So i've been doing Physical memory scans instead, which freezes my computer a bit each time.

was hoping there was a solution for this, so it doesnt take my entire computer out while its doing the search for the addresses.

BUMP!

Hi back again, for some odd reason Cheat Engine 6.5.1 is crashing when i'm doing a physical memory scan.

(After it performed one beforehand and got the addresses i want to lock)

However as soon as the next scan started, it just errors out or freezes.

The next time it happened it just closed itself. What's happening? o.o

Its just happened just now, i haven't even fiddled with the settings at all.
