Hello. My friends and I are looking for a more challenging coop experience in Dark Souls 2, and are trying to find a way to start a fresh new save on NG+8. I've talked to some modders and they had no suggestions other than to use Cheat Engine to grind our way to NG+8. However, I'm not 100% privy to what exactly causes a ban, and would like some help to make sure what we're planning to do doesn't ban us, otherwise the entire coop purpose is destroyed.
Here's the exact plan: Stay in Offline Mode, us Cheat Engine to activate God Mode and get the Gaping Ring so our Soul Memory stays at 0, and No Clipping our way into Nashandra's boss door and killing her 8 times until we can start a game at NG+8.
Then, we will turn off God Mode, uninstall Cheat Engine, destroy the gaping ring, and start our coop adventure in a NG+8 world with 0 souls and no equipment.
Is there anything wrong with that plan that might cause us to get banned? Thank you for your time.

Only From software can answer that.
But stats modification is the one sure thing that can get you banned on dark souls along with souls/souls memory. Health option is fine
As long as you don't get online, there is no way for the game to ban you. So whenever you decide to go online, use a different character.
No need to uninstall cheatengine lol, that's a bit extreme

Darn, staying offline ruins the whole point, since my friends and I want to do it as a Co-op run. We'll stay offline for the process, but we need to be in the clear when we log on in order to play together, hence the uninstalling bit. Just wanted to remove all possibility. We won't be touching the Soul Memory, as we're going to use the Agape Ring, which is a ring in the game that prevents soul absorption, so I'm not worried about that bit. But if the god-mode changes stats that might be a problem...
I wonder if I can beat her 8 times without it? I've heard of a glitch that if you enter a boss room without activating the door, the bosses are there but they have no AI. With No Clip turned on I suppose there's nothing stopping me from just beating her to death with my fists, lol. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

I have an idea base on my experience with ragnarok online more than a decade ago. The best way to cheat online games are by using packet injections, proxies, bot which is same concept different approach.
As data/packet is being receive and sent by the client (the game) to the server, if you could just do a man in the middle approach you can just find the monster/boss id and attack it from a distance without being near striking distance (offscreen) by just injecting the attack packet on the boss id.
Of course game restriction may apply like you can't strike when there is an obstacle or you can't hit it by melee because of distance. Also range-weapons range maybe a problem when the server take that to consideration.
And another thing a proxy approach would not work on encrypted packets unless you got a decryptor for the packet. But if there are no decryptor then you can just use CE and find the address that could enable you to do a MITM when data is already decrypted then change the data before encryption and returned to the server. But games like SF (Special Forces) doesn't have restriction thus when you inject a packet that kills an opponent then the opponent dies even if you were just starting the game and it may trigger a BAN since it is obvious. The trick is not to make it obvious and never bragged or share your neat MITM packet injection cheat.
I've done that a long time ago with ragnarok online and it is FUN specially I added my own keyboard shortcuts to help with the packet injection. I level-up my newly created archer fast within highlevel monster from a distance without my archer getting pawned but the rule for getting experience and items from ragnarok online is that you need the boss/monster visible within your screen thus I just hit them offscreen and when boss/monster will almost die I just rush where it is killed and get exp/items. So it would still depend on the rule of the game/server.
