So I have this game which has time (Racing game not going to say the name) and as always in the race the time goes up 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... and so on with minutes, seconds and milliseconds. My friend found time and made it so you can freeze it and even change it. when I asked him how he found it he said its not a value but instead a function of the game (that's all he told me. he didn't really give me any hints as to a shortcut of finding it). How would this type of thing be found? Note: cant be bothered to go through all the addresses of the game and look what each address does.

All data is stored as a basic type (so integers, bytes, singles, etc.) sooner or later, so just try to search for it.
But be aware, maybe it's encrypted or something, so you'll have to do unknown initial value and changed/unchanged (in the worst case).
