It basically doesn't give a shit about debuggers/writing to the process until you try to invade the protection's territory of the EXE. This is done for (I assume?) modular reasons, so they can just add the protection with the linker and CTRL+SHIFT+B the game out the door in time for the holiday season, no testing needed. I don't recall a single instance of Denuvo causing a crash in the games its released with, it's usually crashing for internal reasons.
It works incredibly well since it's self contained, and I guess they just also happened to not fuck over trainer developers as well.
Don't expect a crack for at least 5 months, though. |
This is the first time I've heard someone say a positive message with Denuvo, most people complained that it's a "terrible DRM that messes with people shit" or "anti-modding software on their shit performance game" or "whines that I can't pirate it to tell if it's a good game to spend money on".

The amount of computation Denuvo adds to the process is infinitesimal. 90% of the protection is encryption based. Everyone is just mad they can't pirate day0 anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you want to complain about added resource to run a game, how about running UPlay on top of Steam on top of Windows. Then all fucking 3 of them add their stupid services to the game and bog it down. What's one more piece to the equation?
I've heard reports that it writes some file to the file storage system, but they released a statement saying they don't. The file in question was actually from the game itself and not Denuvo, but shhhhh. It's not good to admit we're wrong! Denuvo is mostly contained in running memory.

I don't understand why people complain about uplay, because uplay hardly affects me in anyway, and it's mostly ubisoft own's program like steam and EA's Origin program, but people say that it's a "DRM" of it's own, and see it as bad, but it's just like steam... it does the same thing steam does.

I don't mind it because of the DRM, but i since I am an extremely asocial person, I hate the social aspect it sometimes adds to certain games. (worst case when they added signposts in a certain game where people could post spoilers about the story of the game)

I am not upset about devuno because I pay for my games anyway. What I am more upset about is THREE layers of DRM on this game.. I have Steam which is a DRM itself, then Ubisoft's Uplay or whatever that crap is, and then Devuno.. I mean seriously if they were going to include devuno then why tie it to their crappy uplay that NO ONE uses? Now my system is using resources that could go to the game with crap muti layered DRM..

Yup. I'd do that with Bloodborne. Leave notes about how Han Solo dies in the new Star Wars.

Denuvo is not a DRM.

Quote: | Denuvo is not a DRM. | Umn it isn't technically a "DRM" but it is an anti-tamper technology so combined with Steams DRM it is useless to put Uplay with it.. My point still stands..

Nope. On its own it doesn't function, idiot. Steam/UPlay needs to generate the HWID encrypted EXE for you. Want to make yourself look like an even bigger idiot?

Want to make yourself look like an even bigger idiot? | First of all why are you being an asshole? Was I offensive to you? Second of all you literally just proved my point. Yes Steam/Uplay TOGETHER have to generate the Executable, but the executable would still function as a DRM under simply steam and Denuvo working together, Ubsoft simply made it where it requires Uplay.. You can't argue that Uplay is a necessary function.. You are arguing that it needs them because yes it simply does in reality, but I am arguing that it would still function as a DRM with simply Steam and Denuvo working together like on such games as Rise of The Tomb Raider, or MGS Phantom Pain, that Uplay didn't need to be added to the game PERIOD.... The only reason it needs Uplay is because Ubisoft made it that way it doesn't NEED to be involved in the running of the game at all, not that it currently IS...... How do you not understand my point in that?? Now do you want to make yourself look like a bigger asshole?
