Cheat Engine

Hi, been using cheat engine for stupid shit here and there, usually money hacks in games.

However I'm running into the problem of whenever a value uses a decimal it usually fucks my cheat engine.

For example: Crusader Kings 2 I can't scan the money.

I scan the game with the value of the money, which was 166.459 and it comes up with 9 entries

Wait until it increases by a value of at least 1.

Yet when I scan the next value (which was, 167.443) it comes up with nothing

Am I doing something wrong? I tried doing it with Double, All Types, and even Unknown Initial Value > Increased Value By... and it ain't coming up with anything.

If it has a decimal, it's probably either float or double.

float = single-precision floating point value
double = double-precision floating point value
Both are used to represent rational numbers.

If you still can't find it, try doing unknown initial value then changed/unchanged scans.

According to this, gold is actually a 4-byte integer who's value is equal to half the amount shown on screen.

Another reason why you may be having issues, some games like to hide the actual value.
