Cheat Engine

So, after some extensive searching for an answer, it seems all I've been able to find is several other people with the same issue I'm having. Okay, I'll explain my process.

I load up Andy the Android, waiting for it to boot up.
I start a game (for this example, Inflation RPG)
I play around a little, making sure it'll run and not crash/freeze/etc
I open Cheat Engine
I inject it into the process "VBoxHeadless.exe"
I run a couple scans on my gold, changing it after each scan, until I find the addresses
I change the addresses
Nothing happens
I try it again, get the same addresses and results.

Am I doing something wrong? No I'm not connected to the internet, no the game is not an online game, it's 100% offline, the only thing that it can do online is view leaderboards, that's it. I've asked around on a couple other sites about this, one guy said he'd give me a video, but it's been 3 months since he said it and I don't think he's going to follow up on it. Is there some way to actually change the address values or is it just that the addresses are Read-Only?

Well... if that address's value is changing, then it's probably not ROM. You probably found a visual (or fake) value. The real value might be encrypted, or it could be stored as something else (i.e. float or double). Try doing unknown initial value, then changed/unchanged value scans and see what you get.

It's not a matter of what type is it, I was running an ALL scan so I'd have like 5-6 addresses, but I'll try the unknown initial value thing and see how that works out

After attempting that about 7-8 times, it produced the same results. I could find the address, and it would change when I changed the gold amount in-game, but when I changed it via Cheat Engine, the change did not even save, it acted like I did nothing. So maybe it's not possible to hack Andy the Android via Cheat Engine?

Could be that the value is encrypted and split across different addresses and stuff, in which case APK editing might be better.

Your device is rooted?

Your android should be rooted for using Cheat Engine.

Stop bumping this. People have already posted what you're suppose to do in this case. If someone has a specific solution, they'll post it. If nobody does, then maybe you should take that as a hint.
