i'm trying to control a button's state. it has 2 states: available and unavailable. this button randomly creates a unit and all units function like 1 but are actually given different addresses each time they're destroyed and then recreated. i have trouble finding the base address because every time i do a search to see what writes to the address, the button seems to create a unit with a different address attached to it. when i find an address and check to see what writes to it, i usually get something along the lines of:
007C207C - mov [ebp+00000470],bl
007C2082 - mov [ebp+00000471],bl
006FB2DD - mov [esi+00000471],al
i checked the first one for ebp and did a hex search for the address and found xxxxxxxx, added that address manually as a pointer with the offset 470. so far so good(?) but when i went to see what writes to that pointer i find nothing when clicking the button. it seems that it's because now it's created another unit with a different address. my understanding is that there has to be something telling that button to "light up" and allow me to create a unit. so my questions are: what am i doing wrong? what do i do?
thanks in advance |
