It has been a while since I looked over the various tutorials but here is a description of what I am trying to hack:

One game is Punch-Out and I'm trying to hack my characters punching power. I've watched a youtube video of first getting my guys HP, see "what writes to this", then "Show in dis-assembler." After that the different options in the video don't match to what they say and I end up stuck.

The other game is Golden Axe and I'm trying to hack when my character mounts one of the dragons allowing me to keep the dragon throughout the game. If I am knocked off 3 times the dragon runs off. The hack would keep it from doing that.

If someone could point me in the direction of what tutorial(s) to use I would appreciate it.

It'll show you what goes into making a script and how to do it correctly. You'll still probably need to know assembly if you want to understand what you're doing.

It's a basic explanation for beginners. Not everything in there is technically right, but it's the basics.

You should go through the basic assembly tutorial first before this one.
