Cheat Engine

I'd like some assistance with trying something with Warcraft III. At the moment, I've been trying to change who control's a certain unit.

The way I have been doing it.. Directly changing the value.. crashes the game. So I thought about how playing the undead, you can use banshee's to control enemy units, and implementing the code that changes the units to another player.

Does anyone have any guidance on this? It's certainly tough going, since I'm still rather new to some of what I'm messing with. Cheat Engine, sure is an interesting, and useful tool though.

Should just make a custom map.
When the unit touches trigger 1, it changes to team 1 and walks to trigger 2.
When the unit touches trigger 2, it changes to team 2 and walks to trigger 3.
When the unit touches trigger 3, it changes to team 3 and walks to trigger 1.
Now do some unknown, changed, unchanged, same as first scans until you find it.
