Cheat Engine

so when i try to change the values of something, it doesn't do anything. its string, and the text is red in the found addresses box.

i run cheat engine with sandboxie if that has anything to do with it.

anyone know how to fix it or if im doing something wrong?

Games don't normally store values in strings.
So chances are you found the wrong address, yes.
Have you tried 4-byte and float types?

its for dino sim on roblox and changing the skin name to another to get that skin instead, and its worked once but at the time i didnt have the right amount to get the changed one.

all the other times i've tried it it wouldn't change, but ill try those other 2. im pretty new to cheat engine at the moment.

Oh, it is a string. Yea, strings are often repeated.
It's usually safe to change them all, as long as you change it into a valid string.

Also, be sure to try searching both with Unicode unchecked and checked.
The same string may exist in both formats. You'll need to identify which is used in-game.

Also note that depending on how it operates, the displayed skin on your model will likely revert back when you reload the game.

Sometimes the selected skin is based off of an index value.
0 representing the default, 1 for the second selection, 2 for the third, etc.
Finding and changing this type of value would likely be permanent.
Assuming the game uses this type of method.
