Yeah, this is one of their features.

You laugh, but it's pretty smart. With the disaster of windows 8, Microsoft wants to maintain having majority of users since a lot of people are switching to macs/linux, or not upgrading at all. Additionally, they want to promote their windows store, so they're practically giving away Windows 10 for this reason.

Finally, you're not part of the consumer base that Microsoft makes their money with. You admitted that you pirated Windows 7, so what are the chances of you actually buying 10? Slim to none; however if you get a job or somewhere in the corporate world, you're more comfortable/familiar with 10, so your job will pay for a license for you. Corporate and enterprises is where Microsofts money comes in with Windows.

If something is free, then you're the product.

I need to find a way to disable it and all of its cancer apps
including the xbox app

I called this before, and I'll say it here now: I think W10 is going to be fantastic. It fits in perfectly with how microsoft operates. Windows XP? Fantastic? Vista? Disaster. 7? Fantastic. 8.1? Trash? So, now it's W10, following their last folly, I'd be willing to bet it will be the new standard and many people will get on board.

That being said, I won't be updating right away, going to give them a few months to iron out whatever issues come up.

I have yet to run into any kinks but I run probably the most common hardware
meaning I have really common drivers

Only a few little quirks here and there that are annoying over 7 but so far it boots/reboots way faster

and everything seems to be snappy after you let it boot for a while

Also that whole edge is better than chrome now is a joke lol

they feel the same
I even ran tests and they came out really similar
jetstream scored a 149 for edge +-7 for chrome it scored 139 -+20

My main problem at the moment which is temp
is that apps wont install due to soo much traffic
also
windows wouldnt activate last night or all day
but when i started it this morning it was activated

windows said it was due to high traffic lmao

updated straight away on my surface pro 3. edge is really competitive and very good for research with the in-browser note-taking, and i heard that in a couple of months it will not only allow extensions but also chrome and ff extensions (sauce any1?). if that's true it's gonna blow the other browsers out of the water

cortana isn't available for my language but it seems really gimmicky anyway

The only reason I don't use edge is lack of extensions
not browsing with out adblock sorry

Another reason I may continue using chrome even after edge allows extensions
is Hangouts
is only available to chrome

I don't see any reason why should I use Windows other than to play games with better performance. I can bet that AMD will fix their drivers to work nicely with OpenGl and Vulkan games before windows 10 is officially released.
Unigines Heaven benchmark now shows 200% better OpenGl performance on my GPU compared to the summer 2014.
