How do I cheat?

Good morning ladies and gents.
So last night I opened up CE to try to use with Tera Online. I took all the necessary steps (I think) in order to change a specific stat to a specific number. In this case it was the Damage Modifier.
CE was successful in changing the number on the paperdoll. Meaning that I found the correct address and successfully change the existing number with a number of my choosing. On the paperdoll this was actually reflected. However as I went to fight again, there was absolutely no change a all in the actual damage.
Before CE: 206 White Damage
After CE with successful reflection of change on paperdoll of +1000: 206 White Damage.
I am not sure what I did wrong considering the paperdoll actually reflected the change. Any assistance would be wonderful.

I have read rules, I realize it request not to use game name, but it's already all over the forums, just not this specific question.
Also "someone trying to edit online locally this never cease to amuse me." is a very solid answer in the category labeled "smartass." Not to mention, Aion Online was the first game I ever used CE on and worked successfully changing the Attack Speed on an Assassin.
oh lol...someone trying to be a smartass and not giving specifics or actual truth about what amuses them.
If something has changed over the last 3 years that I successfully changed an online games address and value then it has slipped past me.
Anyways, thank you for the very intelligent and helpful response. I am sure you'll go down in history.
