My stock portfolio is nearing $6k, and I'm looking for stock to review. Not sure if any of you give a fuck about making money, but I'm up around 1.5k in 2 weeks. Post a stock under $10 and I'd be happy to give you an idea of if it's going anywhere.

Just got a big turn on $PTBI and $NYMX last week.

My current sleepers are $CYTR and $RTK

Hit me with your best shot.

$TSLA is an amazing investment for those with 401k's in long term with massive backing. Way out of the <10$ but I would entirely put a portion in $TSLA if I had the funds.

So many solar based stocks, please give me their trading name (e.g. $TSL)

If you're referring to just solar based stocks in general, it is really a risky investment considering how lackluster the government is towards re-investing in massive rehauls of renewable energy. Yeah it could be big near the end of 2015, but as of right now there are no major insights that leads me to believe it's going to flip anytime soon.

Also I tend to swing trade between 3-5 days. I rarely hold for more than 2 weeks.

I recommend it because most people make the majority of their money off investments and there isn't a lot of risk if you diversify your portfolio. Investing could the be different between you working for five years for your goal or fifteen. Start small and figure out what works for you when you can afford it because people don't get wealthy off salary it's mostly investments.

Not a bad plan either, but I have already a massive savings account that I built up back when I was a degenerate. I'm hoping to get this account to around 25k~ turn it into margin and make being on the computer my day job and sell off my % of the company I'm currently with.

Nothing sounds better to me in my head than lying on the beach making money on my ipad or laptop.

Very true, but some people aren't in it for money. Just looking to get by and have 0 risk. Nothing wrong with that.

I can't wait for a recession to happen. Then I will dump my money in. Right now, we're in an environment where it's too difficult to make money. And don't scream "Don't time the market" at me like a boglesheep, I know when people are greedy and fearful.

I agree that a recession would be great, but there are plenty of stocks/companies that have significant percentile gaps that are filled daily. Otherwise I wouldn't be making money.

You have to look at it as that $5k in equity can net plenty based off $0.05-$1.00 per day based off shares. I mean I made $150~ over night on one stock which even still will probably burst higher. Only $400 invested into that one.

Ford could honestly be a great stock if all the major share holders stopped sticking their faces in each others assholes and inhaling. The issue is that major holders in the company don't even spend a bit of time considering other option and allow themselves to basically dwell on the minute profits while so much more is possible.

The point at where Ford's stock is at now could potentially be a big profit if you buy in now or a bit more in the slump. They have shown big increases in the past with new products, but at this rate the stuff that they are producing really isn't anything special.

Not for me. But certainly could be a good long hold stock, maybe even a mid term with 2-3 month results.

---

Gonna have to give me a stock code for American Prosperity. Not exactly sure which one you mean.

Similar to Ford it's another rather study stock, with not much room for random bursts of activity. It has been down the past few months because of the same old news, nothing exceptional coming from them directly. They have though invested into a few side ventures which could eventually pan out. They are making a good effort at improving their GM brand name, but GM's history has always been rather melodramatic. It really takes something ground breaking for a company that has been around that long to make an impact on the market.

They are both companies that could potentially have a stock growth within the next few months, but it really wouldn't be anything outstanding.

I know you probably do equity research, which then it is pretty expected that you should be able to make money in this environment. I focus rather on my computer engineering studies while reading some market news and getting either the fear or greed vibes from it and do nothing (or act) accordingly. A lot of my work in investing is doing nothing. Would that be the same for you? Just wondering.
