| why did western culture even continue with literature, everything has already been perfected. now whenever I see or read a fight scene that is gratuitous Im just going to be reminded that something similar has already been described perfectly over 2,000 years ago, and that any character archetypes have already been created

All the modern Winters copy some period of European literature. All the way from antics to the modernism.
It is try that whenever you see name of the movie you know the plot and ending. Is it movie about communism. Plot is copied from the Orwels Animal farm.
SPOILER if you haven't read Animal farm:
And that kind of movie usually ends that "pigs" who were in charge adapt laws to themselves e.g change law " All animals are equal" to " All animals are equal but some.are more equal".

ive read Animal Farm and read 1984 a couple months ago. Animal Farms message was forced, but i felt that it was done intentionally to show how ridiculous shit is.
I dont mind when stories borrow things from other things, its only common, but so much shit is 100% copied from something else, and if only people went back to the original thing, then the new shit would get 0 praise.
edit:: btw im reading the Odyssey now. the Iliad was so good I wanted more. I think im just going to read old as fuck books from now on and just work my way up through time. I tried to do the same thing with movies but 1910's are just really bad quality because the originals are so damaged, but Ive watched a fair amount of things from the 20's and 30's and 40's onward I've watched a fuck ton.

Books that I would recommend you: Croatian tales from long ago ( probably the most original stories that include fairies and giants ignore fact that it has Croatian in its name ) > Some short stories from Hans Christian Andersen ( e.g Girl with matches ) > The brave adventures of Lapich > 20 000 miles above the sea > Decmeron, Crime and punishment, Father Goriot
Also there is " > " at the start of the list between names of the books because I've tried to make chronological order how I read them.

is there some compilation book you know of with croatian tales? i wouldnt mind checking them out
the rest dont seem too interesting, but ill probably end up reading Crime and Punishment because i enjoyed Dostoyevsky's Notes From Underground

| picture of dorian gray is really dope, read it last year for the first time. what the fuck was up with the chapter where it was all about like pigments or colors or some shit or was it gems? i dont even remember because it was so weird and long
