Reddit takes itself too seriously and only breeds users who strive to be upvoted rather have a legitimate converstion. Everybody always tries to correct you, never admit they are wrong, and go with the popular opinion to see themselves get voted up.

4chan doesn't take itself serious enough. The anonymity nature allows for no real consequences, which degrades almost all chances for a serious thread. The demographic are over-privileged white 13 year olds with internet access on a pc.

Facebook is extremely diverse and has many pages and groups, but due to the fact that you use your real name, Facebook can be too personal for discussions with random people. Facebook posts are hard to organize into categories, so finding what you want is challenging.

every community but 4chan bothers me (and Rs is fine too). 4chan not taking itself seriously is fine because I have low expectations for it, but a lot of things there are still entertaining, and you get your occasional serious threads. in the jokes and non-seriousness there is some reality, memes happen for a reason, and reflect society, as everyone on 4chan exists in the real world and is a demographic
