Cheat Engine

Hi guys,
New here and need help!
Downloaded CE 6.4 and RelicCoh from this site. Started COH and CE 6.4 and the code lines that I want to edit appears in the bottom box. The active box(Active-Description-Address-Type-Value) is not checked and nothing I have done so far has worked.
What am I missing,not doing correctly?

0) Run game
0.5) alt+tab
0.6) Run CE
1) Attach CE to the game's process
2) load the cheat table
3) figure out how to activate the various cheats (by reading the "readme.txt").

it's usually as simple as clicking a box
in some other cases, you click the box and then set some values to 1
