honestly the community tries to hard, mainly trying their best their best to make their posts sound smart so they get thumbs up. posting long posts about nothing and correcting people on completely irrelevant subjects is the norm there just so they can get upvoted. its literally the most annoying community on the planet.
being in the reddit community is like sitting in a room full of politicians who are too afraid to admit they are ever wrong, arguing about absolutely nothing important whatsoever

| I think the root of the problem for what you've mentioned is community size. On large subreddits there certainly is a mentality for that, but denouncing Reddit as a whole based on your experience with those boards is silly you silly goose. I have to agree though, the extent to which people on the main boards go to for upvotes/reddit gold is hilarious, borderline sad.

It's a different league than this forum. Reddit literally alters people's expectation of real life. It's kind of fucked up.

Alternatively, you could go to actual 4chan. I am aware that not all subreddits are terrible, but the whole concept of accounts/voting on a large scale is really fucked up. Why not choose somewhere else without those issues.
