Windows 7 x64, CE 6.4
I have UAC turned on. CE runs elevated and the target game is not.
When doing code injection with "call ce lua function" template the call to CELUA_Initialize never succeeds. Digging into the problem showed that the named pipe cannot be opened. And since injected code runs with target process privileges I guess that an "elevated named pipe" cannot be opened from an unelevated process.
Turning UAC off and running everything with admin token seems to make the problem go away.
Any way the named pipe can be created with common access mode? Or is it the case here with cross-UAC access?
+ CE seems glitchy. After some wiggling with forms (opening, closing, using this and that) access violations start to appear and windows would refuse to close. Only restarting CE helps. Just sayan.

i'll see about giving it special security options.
try instead of disabling uac just running the game as admin instead.
And what do you mean with wiggling with forns. Do you mean the form editor (third part add on) or other parts of ce?

I'm doing just that for the moment but I want UAC back.
As for forms I meant the windows of CE itself. It's hard to come by those bugs on purpose. They seem to mostly appear after a somewhat intense debugging session. Memory view, breakpoints, auto assembles, lua scripting, structure dissecting, ultimap, reattaching debugger after game process crash. This is roughly what I've been doing lately. And somewhere in the middle of it the windows would stop closing and I would see access violations.
