So dem black folks dont steal your ink.

But being srs, this is probably more for corporates so employees don't steal their ink (e.g. say that it was empty, replace it, then take the still good ink cartridge home) as it's not exactly cheap.

ah ok that makes sense, seems weird for a consumer grade product tho, guess it could come in handy if your 80 years old and need someone to fix your printer and they steal your ink, but then you wouldn't know about the setting in the first place and then the thief probably wouldn't bring the ink back just because it didn't work... actually this feature seems pointless
