How do I cheat?

I have both the 6.2 and the 6.4 cheat engine. I been using it for a while now. The last 2 weeks I have been having issues with the cheat engine while running it on farmville 2. It will load up and do the first scan. once I try to pull all the values to the bottom it freezes and stops responding. I tried it on both mine and my wife's lappy and I have the same issue. I am running windows 7 and she is running windows 8. I don't know what to do to get it work properly
