i personally think that any 1 main band member leaving a band means that they should change their name or something similar, because otherwise theyre just riding on the name, regardless of how good or how meaningful that member is. im glad the remaining members of Joy Division changed the name to New Order, it makes everything clearer and easier to differentiate

Also The Division Bell was without Roger, and that was a fantastic album. to say just because they don't have Roger anymore that it's going to suck, is just retarded.

No I definitely do understand that some people have stupid as fuck opinions, do you even know how to read? my entire retort is about asinine and unappreciative opinions of Pink Floyd. There is a reason why so many people think they are good, even without Roger Waters. So almost completely objectively, I am certainly in the right. but if you're just going to argue that "lel music opinions are subjective" then you clearly can't analyze music beyond "oh wow this sounds dope."

dont try to make pink floyd sound like theyre some crazy good band. the reason so many people think theyre good is because theyre entry level and simple. stupid stoners listen to it and sit around going "oh shit this sounds dope". the more accessible something is, the easier it is to analyze.

in this case, it is subjective. clearly shrooms values roger waters sound and contribution to the band a lot, and considers him a valuable part of the band. you even started the thread with "even though roger waters isnt in it", that clearly sounds like you as well as other people value his presence so much that it was the first thing to be brought up

entry level classical isn't entry level music in general. i didnt say pink floyd were entry level rock, theyre just entry level in general, everyone has heard of them, anyone can pick them up and start listening to them. classical in general is harder for most people to get into than pink floyd.

also some classical is simple, but thats part of what makes it elegant, but that doesn't make it entry level. something can be simple but not entry level, but not complex and entry level, because complexity as a whole is what makes something less accessible. simplicity in genres like drone, minimal techno, ambient, and harsh noise, doesn't make them entry level nor accessible
