go for the ATH M50s , I dont know if the M50X are worth the extra price, try to find that out on your own
I hear that M50s have good bass/good for people who want a lot of bass (not neutral), and theyre closed so thats a + for the bass too.
Ive never used em, but everyone recommends the M50s and they are a bit overhyped and their price started to go up really high, but the M50X which is the new version or whatever seems to have driven the price of the original M50s back down. theyre $120 on amazon so thats a good price (even though they used to be around $100, but for a while were like $150)
im not crazy for bass, but Im pretty happy with what my DT990s have, so if youre comfortable spending more I would reccomend DT770s which are $250 (for the 32ohm, which dont require an amp) and have more bass than my 990s. the valor pads on beyerdynamic headphones is the most comfortable thing ever. apparently M50s can hurt your head after a long period of time, and 770s have more bass too from what ive read, so worth the price if youre willing to spend that much. I believe Kyle has a pair so maybe he could add to this
also, sound is very subjective. some people will shit on you for wanting bass, and discredit any headphones that aren't neutral. if its at all possible for you to go to a store and try some headphones out personally you should do that. otherwise just read different reviews, only from head-fi though because I wouldnt trust any other site (especially wouldnt trust amazon, just look at Beats and Skullcandy reviews), and take what multiple reviews say and see if the headphones would suit your needs

Yah my friend has some limited edition skulll candy crushers and they're pretty dope with the bass. Was listening to them on the weekend when I was over there. I would get em but only as a second pair of headphones, exclusively for bass heavy songs. Wanted one that is more all around with better bass than the pair of headphones I have now atm.
I'll prolly do the M50's. The M50X's have a detachable cable compared to the m50's apparently. Also I heard that the M50's just add more clearer sound quality instead of bass. From some comments I read said they don't really have a lot of bass but don't lack it at all. Ill just do the m50's and hope for the best.

ATH M50s are referred to as having person with a high concentration of pigment in his skinbass, and is for bassheads, idk where you heard that it doesnt have much bass, because thats what its notorious for
also dont listen to music on youtube because low bitrate kills bass

What would you recommend I use? |
320kbs mp3s or flac if you can find the songs you want in that
most artists that do small stuff on youtube have bandcamps where it lets you download the music in flac or mp3. its a lot more noticiable when you have better quality headphones, you could do a couple tests
