I know most of you know about this by now and you shouldn't ignore this because you are probably infected.

This is what i have always been telling people that antiviruses are just a pathetic sense of security you have that don't do actual jackshit. How did the russian hackers achieved this feat ? by turning your computers into zombie botnets, the question then is what the heck were the antiviruses doing...showing those big green icons i guess. I assume at least more than half of the infected computers had some antivirus installed if not all of them because i haven't met anyone who doesn't have one installed except myself and this should show how terrible they are at their job and how desperately they need to improve their detection.

Just a rant but its one of those shake my heads moments, i hope this should wake people up to not trust their AVs blindly and take steps to protect themselves. Its not even funny how many people think that if they have AV, they are bullet-proof its on the quite contrary and people who don't have one are actually more safe because they are more cautious of the software they run and sites they visit.


PS: I could be wrong but from what i have read, that was how the hackers achieved this feat.

PS2: The funny thing is the ehow advises to get a good antivirus, every AV at this point i assume has studied the virus and released some sort of emergency update. You don't actually need an antivirus by now once your data has been sniffed, that shit is safe with hackers...the only thing you can do is change your passwords. This botnet is gonna die now that its discovered.
