It depends on the game. If it uses mono (32 bit) mono will be available
If it uses .net then that will be available
And it also can use both
E.g. terraria uses .net , Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded uses mono
Also, most games made with unity seem to use mono, so those will often work with the mono features

There was some click-and-point Japan-themed game with turn-based combat a month or two ago. You were inside a PC or something.
It started with a guy being shot on the ground (you control the girl chasing the bad guys) and there was a monotonic narrator talking all the time.
I can't recall the name and any other specifics, except that CE reversed the structures completely automatically. (I did not have to do a thing.)

CE 6.4 picked up all data in the structures like a charm.
