"Fatal Error.
Steam must be running to play this game!"

I keep getting this message when I try to run the game after installing the files. For obvious reasons it doesn't make sense. Apparently adding more files to PAYDAY 2's folder renders the game unplayable, so probably the new update is the one to blame. Please help.

We won't know $hit about those Lua scripts because we didn't make it unless we take the time to study them with a working game and then provide support to you. Pretty daunting task if i may say so. So post it in the thread where the author could read.

Btw, nobody likes providing support for someone else's trainer, its like doing the hard work while someone else takes credit for their (apparently now broken) work.

However, to answer your question yes the update is now detecting the cheats (by scanning the game directory or memory in case you injected the hacks), the developers of Payday 2 are very strict about cheating so i would be careful using the broken trainer until the author updates it. My suggestion would be to downgrade and play with the version the hack supports.

Well steam won't let you downgrade once you update to latest version. So you can simply get a cracked copy and update to which ever version worked best for you. It is kind of not illegal since you already own the legal copy and doing it for something they steam should let you do in first place.

I found a much better and funnier hack that gets updated often. It's called "Pirate Perfection". It unlocks all DLCs, gives you as much exp as you want, gives you as much money as you want, gives you superhuman abilities like flying and infinite spawns of every single device in existence, etc.
It even has an option to change your in-game name so no one can report you.
