Cheat Engine

Okay, so I'm new to Cheat Engine and I've decided to try and make my own tables for a few games I can't find anything that is updated to the newest patch.

So I'm working Dust: An Elysian Tail right now.

I managed to get the EXP Address and made it so that everytime I kill something on a file it gives you the amount of EXP needed to hit max level.

Now, I'm trying to figure out Health and Gold.

One problem I'm running into with gold is that there are 2 addresses that pop up that both seem to be gold related.

Does this mean I add both? Or would I only need to add one?

I've been watching the values and they literally both go up together and change with the amount of gold I have.

The problem I'm having with health is that I just can't seem to figure it out. I change the values and 3 pop up that change together.

I'm assuming since it shows your health in numbered form and then directly beside it in bar form and if you pause it shows it again on the stats screen this would be the reason... right?

But if I change any of the values Nothing happens except changing one of them ALWAYS crashes the game.

What am I doing wrong?

For gold, give different values for the 2 addresses. Change one of them to 1000 and the other to 2000. Then go back to the game and see which one is used. If you have 1000 gold, you need the first address. If you have 2000 gold, you need the second address instead. One of them is the amount of gold, the other one is probably just a copy that is irrelevant for you.

I've been trying that but as soon as I change the value the value drops back down to what it was before.

So like 1853 gold I go into CE and change the value of all of them 7777 8888 9999 and when I go back to the game it changes all the values to 1853 again. Without gold raise.

edit: so I finally found the one that changes gold, I'm not sure what I did differently this time but Hey, it's working now... Although it's still constantly changing the value. I set it to 99999 and its constantly changing the 3rd number. and it does it in game too! I see it flickering between random numbers.

@rawrthness - don't know the game, but maybe gold value is stored in 2 Bytes - this would explain "flickering" and lucky shot when you found the address. It's more then likely if gold value is limited to value below 65535. Hope this helps...
