ive been prescribed adderall and klonopin for two years and its fucking awsome. and free too. imo ritalin sucks; when i was on it I became more tired than usual; however more focused.
I was on Focalin XR and my grades in school went from Ds to As almost instantly. Downsides were the loss of apatite and overall feeling bad during the comedown every day, but it was worth it. I even got some special award for getting a 104% in one of my math classes; was already making a 100 but the teacher assigned everyone extra credit at the end of the grading period so I was like "gg school, I win". _________________

Using ritalin and other concentration improving drugs is a good idea, but only for school and grades is a bad idea.
Once you start with it,you'd better be using it for the rest of your life, or else the grades you're getting will be a misrepresentation of your actual capabilities. _________________

Misrepresenting yourself to be better than what you actually are is the game of society. People jumping over each other for higher paying jobs is how the world works. We students go to school not to learn, but to get as much documented credit as we can showing that we are learning. Saying we should refrain from using our resources because it misrepresents our ability is like saying, "Teacher, I won't accept this extra credit point you offered me because this will misrepresent my actual grade". _________________

That is the problem. People don't think further than school, and only go for getting good jobs.
But once you land a job you have to keep proving that you're good. Sure, with high grades you might become a lawyer, but if you spend more time playing games and trying to hit your shadow, instead of investigating particular cases, you'll lose a lot of them. Eventually having to give up because everyone will learn you're the most useless lawyer out there
That is why you should keep using it and never stop.
(Also, some companies have already started to decline solicitations if it's known that person used to be a user and is now clean. (Not giving that as a reason of course)) _________________

I took Ritalin from 3rd grade to senior year HS. I hated it. I'm on Adderall now and I like it way better.
Ritalin, Focalin, Concerta are all the same (methylphenidate), while Adderall, Vivance, and some others are all mixtures of amphetamine salts.

I disagree with this. When I was in elementary/middle/high school I didn't do shit when I was off my meds, but I was still a little kid.
You can kind of "grow out" of ADHD as long as you make a committed effort to work your ass off when you know you need to. I only take my Adderall on average maybe once a week and I'm doing just fine in school. I'm hoping I can stop using it altogether in a year or two. _________________

wouldnt you rather get great grades in school then go and do poorly at a good job than just to get shit grades and never have that opportunity
Pretty much this, the end more than justifies the means.
Also adding to that, getting good grades in school is drastically different than proving your worthiness of your job in relation to ADHD meds. ADHD meds allow you to focus on one thing, concentrate, and really filter out all of the distractions around you in the class room. That's why they are beneficial to students.
Some jobs require the exact opposite skill, like multitasking. It's really dependent on the job and the person, but a lawyer can also have cons to taking ADHD meds that could hurt them in a court as well. When I was on adderall, I had a hard time thinking outside the box and being creative. I only thought of what I was thinking about at that time, no other possibilities existed in my mind. If I was a lawyer, it would be a con to not be able to think outside of the box. Adderall also made me depressed and unmotivated to do things (that's why I stopped taking it), and motivation is probably the biggest factor of whether someone is worthy for their job. _________________

i bet you drink when you get stressed out and pretend it's okay because it's "justified", too
Honestly, amphetamines aren't that enjoyable for recreation. Not compared to other things anyhow. Plus the side-effects make it a really shit experience. The entire reason I'm not taking them right now is because I don't have to anymore, they're really not a fond experience unless you're rewarded.
Also I do drink when I'm stressed, because that's the only time I feel like drinking alcohol (outside of social events/celebrations), otherwise I'm fine with just Mtn Dew. If it's just that I seek justification to drink, I don't see how that's a bad thing considering how bad alcohol is for you. Less you drink it, the better. _________________
