I have a problem, with this... I put in the value for what I want to for credits, and everytime I head back to the NFSHP2 screen, I start to buy cars, but then the game crashes. I get this error.

that is an access violation error, if you can use debugging, see what is causing this at the EIP address which is 0x0054BA14

also make sure the value you are modifying is the real value that represents the amount of in game money you have.

According to my ancient notes about this game, the money is stored on 4 bytes on a static address, 504C360.

Shouldn't be a problem to change it. (And no, I have no idea what version, probably 1.0 or something like that.)
