Cheat Engine

I've used CE before, and I have never had a problem. I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 (still familiarizing myself with it), and now I can't get CE to work on flash games.

This is my problem:

I find the value for my health, and can make the "new scan," as well as the "next scan," until I narrow it down to the value I need

When I double click it to bring it down to the next area, I then attempt to change the value to what I would like it to be.

When I hit enter, the value doesn't change. I've never had this problem, and it is now doing it for games that I have previously been successful on in the past. Even clicking on the "Active" box doesn't keep the value the same.

If anybody can help, I'd be very grateful.

Then you have found the wrong address to your value or you're using another/newer browser, that probably prevent this easy kind of value changing. Don't know if there is a browser with such a feature.

Yea see there's the problem, I'm using Chrome, and like I said, I've done it in the past with the same games, using the same steps. I even watched a Youtube video to double check that what I was doing was correct.

To clarify even more, what is going on is this:

I right click on "Value"
Go to "Change Record"
Click "Value"

Then when I actually change the number to what I want and press Enter, nothing happens. The value doesn't change. I have never ran into this, and I can't find anything on these forums of the same problem

Then try it with another browser. Or could it be, that the developers provided an update and all important values are stored server-side now?

Not sure, I've tried different browsers, and I can't say it's because of an update from the developers. Unless every game that I try now blocks it, but I just can't imagine that being the case. Just seems to me that I can't use CE on any browser.

Try downloading the swf and running it with flashplayer instead of a browser.

If your OS is the only thing that has changed, try running CE in compatibility mode
