To turn off ads and offers, open Options > Preferences > Advanced. Here you'll find a large list of flags for the app and a filter box. Search for and disable the following flags:
offers.left_rail_offer_enabled
gui.show_plus_upsell
offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled
bt.enable_pulse
gui.show_notorrents_node
offers.content_offer_autoexec

Not sure if you realize what you're doing here....
You're just setting flags to false, you can even see the names of them.

there's no reason to use uTorrent any longer, its terrible and bloated, the fact that they even give you ads and such in a free program that was designed to be lightweight is appalling
I suggest Qbittorrent, Transmission-QT, Deluge

| It is kinda bloated but its simple, and I would use Transmission if it actually had a native windows GUI instead of that ported -Qt version.

pretty much all torrent clients are simple
I don't mind the Qt version, it rarely crashes and I have it open 24/7, downloaded 1.5TB of data with it so never had trouble connecting
