I've got wine 1.75 working in ubuntu 13.10 and I need to apply these two patches:

http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45189

But I have no idea how it works, I guess I save the text as .diff files and then do a $ sudo patch?
I'm not sure of the syntax and I'm pretty sure I need to get source code and compile it and stuff like that, but I'm a nix noob so can someone help me out?

git checkout blabla
cat ./blahblah/INSTALL
cat ./blahblah/COMPILING
cat ./blabbah/README
git apply blablablah or patch -p1 < blahblah

Using sudo to execute a diff that you don't understand is dangerous.
