hey there!
my name is chris and im new to this forum!

im interested about some "facts"...
so far i read some stuff about cheating a server side game (android).

what i found was that there are only two possible ways... to hack the server... but thats illegal right?

and to do something like a modified app that changes the communication between app and server?...what probably isnt that much illegal as the first thing? ... i mean sure... there is only legal and illegal

(and i learned that an in app purchase crack like freedom wouldnt work on a server side game!)

since im new to all of this but somehow interested in, even with no real reason... i just wanted to know about all of that what ive read

Hello, Chris... welcome to CE forum...

First off, 'Server-Sided Game' is, IMHO, a misleading term. The more
precise term should be server-sided values in particular game. The term
'Server-sided game' used to point certain games which vital values are
mostly handled by their server, leaving cheaters few and fewer option to
cheat them.

Games with server-sided values are most likely are multi-player online
games. There is almost no good reason to store some values server-
sided in single player games.

Hacking the server is obviously illegal, this applies not only to online
games but online apps or services as well. While modding app is, afaik,
also illegal since it's common that within games/apps EULA users are
forbid to modify the original content of the whole pack.

However, modifying the memory content is barely legal since the users
own them personally.

Just sharing my thought. Please, correct me if i'm wrong...
